BREAKING: Unanimously voting 21-0-1, the Senate has passed House Bill No. 8980 on its third and final reading, securing the P5.768 trillion budget for fiscal year 2024.
Kudos to our esteemed sponsor and finance committee chairman Senator Sonny Angara, and a big salute to the leadership of SP Senator Migz Zubiri and our fellow senators in the upper chamber!
The national budget will now be tackled in a bicameral conference where the Senate and House of Representatives will reconcile the disagreeing provisions of the two versions of the measure.
