SAN Juan Rep. JV Ejercito Estrada expressed his gratitude to the public after the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS)-BusinessWorld survey results showed a sustained improvement in his ranking among the candidates running for senator in the May 2013 elections.

Ejercito Estrada’s ranking rose to 4th in the January 2013 Pre-Election Survey on voters’ Senatorial preferences, fielded from January 17-19, 2013. The young legislator was 5th in the December 2012 survey. The candidate from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) was favored by 53 percent of respondents in the January 2013 survey.

His latest ranking is a big jump from the 8th spot recorded in the August 2012 SWS-BusinessWorld survey.

“I want to thank the Filipino people for their continued support. I am honored and humbled by your trust and faith in me. Muli, maraming salamat,” said the young lawmaker.

The San Juan Solon has been a consistent favorite among all the senatorial candidates based on SWS and Pulse Asia surveys. In the Pulse Asia poll conducted on Nov. 23 to 29, Ejercito Estrada also landed 4th place among all the senators running for the May elections.

The young lawmaker hopes that the Filipino people will not waver in supporting his bid for a Senate seat.

Ejercito Estrada credited the sorties of UNA, which kicked off on Jan. 13 in different parts of Luzon, for the boost in his ranking in the SWS-BusinessWorld poll.

He said his online presence as well as the support of his Facebook friends and Twitter followers, which doubled at the start of the year, have also raised the awareness of the public about his candidacy.

“Social media helped me connect with the public,” Ejercito Estrada said. “Because I am an active netizen, I have been able to regularly update my Facebook friends and Twitter followers about my daily activities and my stand on certain issues.”
