Only a proper framework is needed to resolve the issues involving ride-sharing apps Grab and Uber with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
I filed the Transportation Network Service Act (Senate Bill No. 1502) in order to prescribe requirements, guidelines and standards for the operations of Transport Network Companies.
Ride-sharing companies and their technology have changed the landscape of our public transport sector. But bringing such convenience and comfort to the riding public does not mean they are spared from regulation.
Our paramount concern is always the safety of passengers. Through this measure, I hope to come up with a win-win solution that will primarily benefit the riding public.
