ON THE STATUS OF MAGNA CARTA OF BHWs
Tungkol sa Magna Carta of Barangay Health Workers, kahit naipasa na ito sa House, nire-review pa rin namin ito dito sa Senado. Gusto naming siguraduhin na hindi lang kami basta nagpasa ng batas na walang tamang pondo, lalo na’t marami pang isyu na kailangang ayusin. Nais rin naming siguraduhin na kapag ipinasa ito, hindi ma-veto. Kasi kung hindi naman kayang tustusan, para lang tayong nangangako nang pampolitika. Ayaw natin ng ganoon.
Hindi naman po ibig sabihin nito na natutulog ang bill. Kinonsulta na namin ang Department of Budget and Management at Department of Finance tungkol sa pagiging posible nito. Kung kaya, bakit hindi?
Gusto ko rin talagang maipasa ito dahil nakita ko kung paano magtrabaho ang mga BHW. Naniniwala ako na sila ang pinaka-underpaid, under-compensated, pero overworked na frontliners. Gusto nating maipasa ito para sa ating mga magigiting na BHWs.
