As Chair of Finance SubCommittee F, Sen. JV presided over the proposed 2019 budget of the Department of Health and its attached agencies.
Delivered the Conference Committee Report on Senate Bill No. 1537 and House Bill No. 5777 or the “Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act”, which seeks to provide for the scaling up of nutrition for the first 1,000 days of life through a strengthened integrated strategy for maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition.
Finally finished the period of amendments for the creation of Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development. This proposed department will act as the sole and main planning and policy-making, regulatory, program coordination, and performance monitoring entity for all housing and urban development concerns, primarily focusing on the access to and affordability of decent, affordable and secure shelter, among others.
