Senate Deputy Majority Leader Joseph "JV" Ejercito raised the lack of awareness about the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, more than five years since it was signed into law.
"The UHC Act has a lot of packages. A lot of people are not even aware that they are already entitled to such benefits," Ejercito said on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, as he defended Senate Bill No. 2620, which seeks to amend Republic Act No. 11223. He noted, among others, the lack of knowledge about the strengthened primary health care under the UHC.
Ejercito welcomed propositions to improve the government's information drive about the law. "So that everybody, the Filipino people, will be able to know, avail of the services [under the UHC Act]," he said.
