Senator JV Ejercito asked the Aquino administration to send Vice President Jejomar Binay to Hong Kong as an official emissary to their government to handle the unresolved conflict brought about by the Luneta hostage fiasco.

Ejercito noted that the city government of Manila had already issued their formal and public apology to the Hong Kong government. He, however, said that the move was deemed insufficient by Hong Kong since they want the national government to make the apology.

“If PNoy is still reluctant to say sorry, may I suggest instead that we send an official emissary to Hong Kong to resolve this issue. VP Binay is doing well in his job as defender of OFWs. Since it involves 160,000 to 180,000 OFWs, VP Binay is the right man for this job,” Senator Ejercito said.

Ejercito said the government should not lose sight of the plight and welfare of our hardworking kababayans in Hong Kong.
