REGIONAL SPECIALTY CENTER IN ILOILO CITY
I told myself when I was the Chairman of the Committee on Health that we have to improve the healthcare facilities nationwide. Because how can we provide genuine healthcare if our facilities are dilapidated and subpar? So, we started by increasing the budget for the Health Facilities Enhancement Program, improving regional hospitals, and upgrading provision hospitals.
The Western Visayas Medical Center as a specialty center is not the only project we started. Our aim is to establish various specialty centers in strategic areas to alleviate congestion at institutions like the Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, and the Lung Center of the Philippines.
Hopefully, we will work on our dream of having a complete specialty center for all Illongos, for the whole of Western Visayas, in the soonest possible time.
