Rep. JV Ejercito Launches Concert for Sendong Victims
Almost a month after Typhoon Sendong struck the country killing more than a thousand people and leaving thousands more homeless, Rep. Joseph Victor Ejercito of San Juan City is still pretty much busy raising funds for the victims in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. On the evening of January 19, 2012, a benefit concert dubbed “SAN JUAN PRESENTS HELP CDO & ILIGAN” is slated to be held at The Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City featuring the country’s top singers and bands. The concert is presented by The Office of Rep JV Ejercito along with the City Government of San Juan and the Junior Chamber International (JCI) -San Juan Pinaglabanan.
Rep. JV Ejercito said, “After hearing the reports on the devastation caused by Typhoon Sendong, I felt I just needed to do something for the victims and immediately asked the City of San Juan to help as well. But after seeing Cagayan De Oro during my visit just before Christmas, I knew then that I really had to keep going and encourage everyone I can reach out to so that we can all continue to help as many families possible to rebuild their lives.”
According to Rep. JV Ejercito, most of those working with him to organize the concert are volunteers and are sharing whatever talent and resources they have to make the concert a huge success. He said, “I am thankful that the City of San Juan, my friends from the Jaycees and the performing artists were all only too happy and willing to join me in in this cause.”
True Faith, Luke Mijares, Paulo Santos are just a few of the many artists and bands who will be performing during the concert with a lot more surprise guests expected to grace the event.
All proceeds will be given to Sendong victims and to help in the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts of CDO and Iligan.
